Monday, September 19, 2005 I could consult a thesaurus, but I still doubt I'd find the right words to describe last Thursday's Sigur Rs at the beautiful Boston Opera House. Like-minded fans of this Icelandic band know what they're capable of, and they delivered that evening with the help of the four-piece AminA, who not only provided strings for Sigur Rs, but opened up the night with a mesmerizing set of their own. I hope to share the AminA set soon, but for now here's the full Sigur Rs show. Thirteen songs over ten files, as I kept the linked ones together rather than split 'em up... For the detail minded, this was recorded using a Sony MZ-RH10 minidisc recorder and a Sony ECM-719 stereo clip-on mic, transferred to pc as .wav files, edited in Soundforge, and converted to 192kbps mp3s. Also, for the audio-snobs, I'll try to post some original wav-to-flac files at dimeadozen when I find the time (i.e. I have no idea when), or you could always ask for a straight burn. As always, the files will be up for a few weeks, maybe a bit longer. Labels: livemp3s |
