As promised a few weeks back, here's the second set of The Church's "three albums live" show back in February in Foxboro, MA. After running through their most recent record, the Australian quartet took a break and came back out to treat us to 1992's excellent, and highly under-appreciated, "Priest=Aura" full-length. Released four years after their 1988 U.S. breakthrough "Starfish" (which comes in the third set, and I'll share up next), "P=A" didn't make anywhere near the commercial impact, but it's long been a fan favorite, and many consider it a career highpoint. The 14-track album certainly made it the longest segment of the evening, which was notable for its complete lack of bass guitar - Steve Kilbey put down his primary instrument and stuck with a six-string for the entirety of the set. Even more notable was when he went entirely guitar-free and prowled the stage for an absolutely captivating performance of LP-climax "The Disillusionist". The crowd went fairly wild (well, for an older-skewing seated bunch), and you can hear it in this recording. Here you go. Download the first set if you missed it, and check back soon for the third & final part of the show (when the band closes with the entirety of 1988's "Starfish"), which will hopefully come with less of a wait than this one did...
