Happy Halloween, all, 1975-style... I'm the one rockin' the Planet of the Apes outfit, my sister Kate is Satan, and the other kids are our childhood neighbors, the Cheeks. You can tell what decade it is because of all the brown. For some obligatory and thematically appropriate musical content, here's one of the most self-indulgent mp3s I've ever offered here on the 'Nac...That's cartoonist/rockstar James Kochalka and his band, recorded a few days ago at the Middle East Upstairs in Cambridge, performing a Halloween-ized version of the song "Hockey Monkey" (which also serves as the theme song for the Fox sitcom "The Loop"). You'll understand why it's so shamelessly self-indulgent when you hear it, trust me. I'll be sharing up the full set sometime soon... |
