A quick afternoon reminder for friends and Boston-area readers: Tonight at River Gods in Cambridge is the second official Tourfilter DJ night, in which I've been kindly invited to take part. I'll be spinning (or, rather, cueing up) songs by artists that'll be performing around here within the next month or so, and I'm pretty psyched on the playlist I've come up with (the shows on the left will give you some idea what you'll hear). I've got the first shift, starting at 9 o'clock sharp, and my set will be followed by ones from writer Matt Shaer (who I met when he interviewed me for this thing) and Tourfilter mastermind Chris Marstall. As enjoyable as it was to hang around during the first one, I'm pretty jazzed to get some say in the sounds that fill up my favorite bar. So come by, get your food-n-drink on, and wave to me up in the DJ window. Read more about the evening at Bostonist, where they describe the fancy schmancy text-messaging system Chris has set up, and add the event to your list at Upcoming.org or Facebook. |
