This coming Friday, newly-signed Merge Records duo Wye Oak make the drive from Baltimore up here to Cambridge, Mass. for a performance upstairs at the Middle East, smack dab in the middle of a bill with Tiger Saw, Appomattox, Sweet Thieves, and Anna Vogelzang. I was charmed from the moment I heard Wye Oak's "Warning" (Mp3), the first taste from their upcoming "If Children" full-length, due out in April. So I'll be there on Friday, alongside one fortunate winner and their guest, who will be the lucky recipients of two spots on the guest list courtesy of the Merge crew. To take a shot at winning those two tix to the Friday, February 22nd Wye Oak show at the Middle East, drop an email to giveaways -at- bradleysalmanac -dot- com, with "WO!" in the subject line. Include your full name, the town you live in, and, oh, let's see... the name of a book you're currently reading (or the last one you read). Emails must be received before Noon this Thursday, the 21st, and I'll let the randomly chosen entrant know that afternoon. And if fate doesn't go your way, be sure to pick up tickets of your own. Not convinced yet by my praise and that track? There are three more Mp3s to be had at the band's new website. Go get 'em. Labels: giveaways |
