Holy Freakin' Fireball!
So last night at our place on Franklin St., where we took shelter from the storm with television (boston sports teams in the bedroom, cheezy reality tv in the livingroom), we briefly lost power. No big deal... as it only lasted about 10 seconds and did nothing more than reset all our digital clocks. I did notice one bit of weirdness, though... during that pitch-black moment, I swear I saw an intense orange glow outside the bedroom window. My first thought: lightening strike set a tree on fire. But when I went to the window, there was nothing to be seen. The power came back on, the rain continued, and I was left scratching my head... ...until this morning, when I stopped by Heaths' blog... Allston explosion leaves 10,000 without power!! What th'?! That's on our street! Mystery solved... I saw an EXPLOSION. I guess the backup systems kicked in for our part of the grid, so we were unaffected. Still... crazy! Almanac Update Action: A few new additions to the photo pages, including Fugazi shots from last week, our trip to the aquarium, and older pics from our rafting trip last summer. Give a look-see. ![]() |
